Mrs.
Teague has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Memphis with a
major in Biology and a minor in Secondary Education. She also has a
Master's Degree from the University of Alabama in Special Education.
Teaching
Experience
In her 11 years of teaching prior to coming
to Concord Academy, Mrs. Teague taught science, health, and special
education in North Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee. She taught part-time
at Concord from its opening in 1983 until 1986. In 1987, she was elected
Executive Director and President of the Corporation of Concord and she
has served in this position since. For the first 7 years of service,
she performed teaching, as well as administrative duties. From 1994
to the present, she has directed her energies into the education and
business operations of the school.
Honors and Awards
Mrs. Teague was named the 1985-1986 Concord
Academy Teacher of the Year and "Who's Who in Tennessee" in
1991. In 2005, she was named one of the "50 Women Who Make a Difference" by "Memphis Woman Magazine."
School Responsibilities
Mrs. Teague oversees all administrative
responsibilities for the school including State Department of Education
rules and regulations, student eligibility and admissions, school business
and operations, and staff and student supervision.
